The principal leaders of our church are the Elders, who are responsible both for oversight (ruling) and exhortation (teaching). Though between elders there is no difference in authority, our church retains the popular titles of “ruling elder” and “teaching elder” (or “pastor”) in recognition of their different gifts. We look to our ordained Elders for pastoral care, administration of the sacraments, and oversight in training and teaching. Our Elders lead in the areas of evangelism and growth to spiritual maturity in Christ. PAGE DOWN for a listing of our current Elders.
Like the Elders, the Deacons hold an office in the church that has been ordained by the Holy Spirit in the New Testament church. We look to the Deacons for leadership in the ministry of mercy and stewardship in the church, and in our community. Deacons serve under the teaching and oversight of the Elders, assisting administratively in the fulfillment of the church’s ministry. PAGE DOWN for a listing of our current Deacons.
